Wessex League – Alf Peckham Respect Trophy

Bashley FC a team to be respected

Bashley’s well-behaved April was recognised by the presentation of the Wessex League, MJM/Kappa Respect Award for the month. An on-field performance that placed Bashley top of the final Wessex Premier League Respect Table and, consequently, the 2017/18 winners of the Alf Peckham Respect Trophy and a cheque for £400.

Alf, who died in 2016, was a former President and Chairman of the Wessex League as well as Chairman of AFC Totton and it most fitting that his memorial trophy is for the recognition of behaviour. The Presentation to Bashley at the League’s Annual Presentation Dinner was made by Alf’s Daughter and Granddaughter.

Bashley Manager Paul Morris and Head Coach Leon Scott are to be congratulated on instilling their charges with the importance of on-pitch respect to complement their fitness and ball skills training.
