Bash go wild about Harrys

October 2nd, 2019|

Bashley 3 Hamworthy Utd 1 Wessex Premier Bashley reverted to form after late September doldrums with three heart-warming goals. Manager Paul Morris’s ploy of giving attacking midfielder Conor Whitely the number nine shirt with Harry McGrath and Harry Bunce as wide attackers brought a new energy to the frontline which was evident straight from the kick-off. It was however ex-Bash striker Cameron Beard who left the first mark, but this was on the back legs of Lewis Ross allowing Conor Whiteley a chance from the resultant free kick to test Hammer keeper Ollie King. Bashley were back to their [...]

Bashley Lose both Points and Manners

September 29th, 2019|

Bashley 1 Solent University 2 Wessex Premier Any thoughts of easy pickings were soon discounted when bottom club Solent University started strongly and dominated the first ten minutes. Bashley’s best chance fell to Jamie Webber when he sliced wide following a Conor Whiteley attempt that came back off the crossbar whilst at the other end a high bouncing ball almost surprised the Bash defence as it landed just past the post. Bash pressed forward and Harry Bunce, after leaving his defender cold, was denied a successful finish by the alertness of Solent keeper Alex Londors. Then a turning point, [...]

Milford Worthy Opponents

September 25th, 2019|

Bashley 5 Milford 0 Bournemouth Senior Cup Round 2 (Sutton 25'og Ross 51' Bunce 34' 49' Webber 86') Att: 104 This, a first ever meeting of two local neighbours, was a celebration of good, clean, competitive football with little consideration given to league difference and the heavy rain. Despite resting a few key players, Bashley fielded a strong side with Morgan Browning making his home debut in central defence alongside Matt Crow. Milford were unfazed by the occasion and during the first twenty-five minutes there was little difference in class between the teams. Bashley then went ahead when a scorching [...]

Lymington Roll the double over Bruised Bashley

September 23rd, 2019|

Lymington Town 4 Bashley 1 Wessex Premier Absence and injury didn’t help Bashley’ s cause although no blame can be attached to late imports from the Development squad, Josh Cook and George Croucher, and new signing Morgan Browning playing his first game this season after a long layoff. An early attack Involving midfielder Lewis Ross, in an unfamiliar number nine role, combining with Cook and Harry Morgan showed promise and it took brave action by Lymington keeper, Nic Jones to disappoint Ross after he ran clear on goal. Lymington were dangerous on the break with Micky Finch and Sam House [...]

Bashley Ease in the next Round

September 18th, 2019|

Bashley 4 Folland Sports 1 (Whiteley 45′ Nicholls 61′ Sansom 74’og McGrath 89′) (Hawkins 53p’) Hants Senior Cup Round 2 Tuesday September 17th The game started with both team showing an intention to win, Bashley were quickly into gear and claimed the midfield but found the Folland goal-area a harder nut to crack. The visitors on the other hand surprised with several fast breaks and Jason Collins in the home goal was by far the busiest keeper. It took until two minutes before halftime before Bash found the answer: a bruising charge by diminutive winger Harry Bunce brought escape [...]
